PLR products (Private Label Rights) may be a very good resource for anyone trying to get ahead on the internet. Not only can PLR e-books and PLR articles be picked up for a relatively small price; they also are advantageous because most of the research and writing has already been done for you.
But PLR e-books and articles may be risky. For many online business owners recognize the value of Private Label Rights products and are exploiting it on a regular basis. In real figures, the same PLR articles and ebooks may have been sold to hundreds or even thousands of customers, who then may have published the material on their sites, with or without changing it extensively.
How to succeed with PLR material
The recipe for making money with PLR articles and PLR ebooks is thus the following: you must plan to rewrite every PLR ebook and article so that it becomes truly unique. If you follow that rule, you will reduce the risk of being hurt by the search engines. Having exclusive content will at all times be a good thing as seen from the viewpoint of the search engine robots.
Another reason is, naturally, the prospective customers: who likes to visit a new website and take part of the exact same material as on one of the competing websites? Change the title
Sometimes Private Label Rights materials have ill-chosen titles. As a result, you might want to alter it into something which is more fitting. For proper search engine optimisation (SEO), you should be especially careful to choose the correct title.
Note, however, that even though the PLR title is NOT badly chosen, you may still have to adjust it, to make it truly unique. In any case, you may want to play around with Google’s free keyword tool to see which title could be most suitable.
Reshuffle paragraphs
One way to “rewrite” a PLR ebook or article is simply to rearrange the paragraphs in the manuscript. By moving one paragraph before another, the total flow of the article (or ebook) can become much improved. And the beauty of it is that you do not have to do any typing!
Erase paragraphs
Another method to “rewrite” a PLR ebook or article would be to simply delete a paragraph or two. Sometimes (especially in low-quality PLR material) there may be a lot of fluff that simply isn’t possible to keep, if one is aiming for a high-quality ebook or article.
Revise paragraphs
This is a method by which you basically retain the same central ideas in the paragraph, but you express them in a different way. Instead of holding on to the text “PLR articles are articles that have Private Label Rights”, you might rewrite like this: “PLR texts are electronic texts that give the owner Private Label Rights.”
Enlarge paragraphs
Although extending a paragraph definitely is a way to rewrite a paragraph (and thus may potentially be a part of the previous point), I still wish to keep this idea as a separate point. It is by this method that you can make your PLR article or ebook even more unique, and significantly more valuable to your audience.
By expanding an article I mean expanding its specific content. You might, for instance, add new points, new reasons, new arguments, new questions, or new data.
Such an extension may sometimes result in very long paragraphs, in which case you may want to consider splitting up the longer paragraphs into several shorter ones. This is only a plus, for it makes your article or ebook even more unique.
Include Relevant Links
Some PLR content packs include useful links and keywords that were used to create the content. In some cases you might want to add those links in your articles and ebooks. In other cases you might decide to use your own product links or your own affiliate links to make more money.
Be very careful, however, with relevance. Do not use links that are not related to the main text. For instance, in an article on how to fry vegetables, don’t bring in an affiliate link to your “solar power” product or to another article on, say, your expertise as a cat trainer. Be relevant!
